Silicone roof coating (dry film)
Its weight
- The table
- 16 lb a squareThe sources give 16 to 16 lb.
- Loose volume
- Not known: it counts in the tons aloneA coating leaves no loose debris but its empty pails; no volume applies.
- How it was chosen
- A coating is laid on, not torn off: the figure is the cured film it adds. Uniflex calls for 2 gallons a square; Polyglass's silicone weighs 10.2 lb a gallon at 80% solids by weight, so 2 x 10.2 x 0.80 = 16 lb a square. Only one rate and one density were found.
