Jury duty

Leave planJury duty

The plan

Kind of leave

What you call it

Optional, like "Crew vacation". Needed when the kind is “Something else”.

Who gets it

Tick each group the plan covers. A group can have its own plan of the same kind: the crews' vacation apart from the office's.

It covers being sick too

One bank for rest and for being sick. It counts as sick leave where a state requires it, if it gives as much.

An hour of it pays

Unpaid leave still keeps the job: jury duty and military service, wherever you are.

Up to, a day

For the first so many days

Notes

Anything about the plan the questions above don't say.

How it comes

How much

For a full-time person in a year; each time it comes up, for leave taken as it comes up.

Counted in

One hour earned for every

Hours worked. 30 gives about 69 hours a year to a full-time person.

Most that can be used in a year, in hours

Once someone uses this much in a year, the rest waits for the next.

Hours a typical year uses

What a full-time person takes in an ordinary year: it counts in the paid year and the crew hour.

More with years of service

From so many years of service on, so much a year, in the unit above.

New hires can use it

Time can build up from day one even if it can't be used yet.

About this card

One plan per group that differsWhen the crews get less vacation than the office, that is two vacation plans, each ticking its own groups. Someone on a 1099 is not an employee: no plan covers them.
Unpaid still countsJury duty and military service keep the job wherever you are, paid or not. Say they are unpaid rather than leaving them out.
